Home Affordable Refinance Programs Extended to September 30, 2017
In recent weeks, the Federal Housing Finance Authority (FHFA) announced that Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae (the “Enterprises”) will be extending the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) until September 30, 2017. HARP had been slated to expire at the end of this year. The extension of HARP is to allow time for the development and implementation a new refinance offering aimed at borrowers that are current on their mortgage, but are unable to refinance through traditional programs because their loan- to-value (LTV) ratio exceeds the Enterprises maximum limits. See a United Bank mortgage lender today to learn more about the eligibility requirements of HARP, and other mortgage programs available to fit your needs.
