United Bank Introduces Person-to-Person Payment Option

Latest Version of Mobile App Gives Customers Easier Ways to Manage Payments

April 15, 2016 – United Bank announced today that the updated version of its mobile app now includes free, secure person-to-person (P2P) payment options. The new feature makes banking even easier by allowing United Bank customers to quickly pay friends or family members with a simple tap of a finger.

“United Bank remains committed to bringing the highest level of security and convenience to our customers, and P2P payments are just another way we are delivering on our promise to make banking easier,” said John Edwards, Chairman of United Bank. “The P2P feature on our latest mobile app simplifies so many of life’s small payment situations. Now you can settle the bill between friends at dinner or pay the babysitter without a late night trip to the ATM. The recipient only needs an active bank account or debit card, at any US bank.”  The transfer is completed after the recipient accepts the payment and their bank posts the credit.

With United Bank’s mobile app, accessing your money has never been easier.   United Bank’s electronic banking tools turn smartphones and tablets into mobile tellers, allowing customers to check balances, transfer funds, pay bills, deposit checks, view electronic statements and more.  In addition, United Bank mobile app users can set up text alerts for all debit and credit card transactions, confirm or report suspicious activity or transfer funds using text-specific commands. All services available through the mobile app are free to United Bank account holders.

The United Bank mobile app is available for iPhone®, Android®, iPad® and Blackberry® devices. To download the new app, visit and click on Mobile Banking.
