Bolingbroke - Estes Road

This very small town was named after the English philosopher and politician, Henry St. John, 1st Viscount Bolingbroke. Founded in 1867, it is part of Monroe County, Georgia. Full of mom-and-pop shops and a general store, this quaint municipality shows you the meaning of Southern charm.

While it may be very quiet, Bolingbroke is grounded in rich Southern history.  It is an unincorporated community and part of the Macon Metropolitan Statistical Area, lying just north of Macon, Georgia and the Ocmulgee River.

Residents think of Bolingbroke and the surrounding areas as more of a time capsule than anything else. Its people have many things to be proud about. Over two million artifacts have been uncovered in and around Ocmulgee Mounds National Historic Park. Some families have lived here for decades and some, for centuries, dating back to the Civil War.
